The 2024 Grape Harvest has officially begun at the Maria Vinci estate and the first results promise to be extremely promising, thanks to favorable weather conditions and our thoughtful vineyard management.
Our Chardonnay BIO DOC Maremma and Sauvignon Blanc BIO DOC Maremma were the first to be harvested, with a total quantity standing at 9,960 kg and 870 kg respectively. These two varieties were processed together, producing 6,000 liters of precious nectar.
Next, red grapes: the first vintage for our estate, with a promising harvest made of:
- Marselan BIO DOC Maremma: 3,490 kg
- Sangiovese BIO DOC Maremma: 650 kg
- Sirah BIO DOC Maremma: 620 kg
- Calabrese DOC Maremma: 1,790 kg
- Carmenere DOC Maremma: 800 kg
The grape-wine yield was approximately around 65%: a number that confirms the excellent quality of our grapes despite the challenges each vintage brings.
But our work in the vineyard is not yet finished. A significant portion of our grapes still needs to be harvested, including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and about half a hectare of Carmenere, with a total estimate of an additional 1,800 kg of grapes to be picked in the next days.
